The Continuum Consort will present a rich and varied programme of works composed between 1944 and 1984. Included are the Swiss composer Willy Burkhard’ Serenade for flute and guitar of 1944, two songs by the South African/English woman composer Priaulx Rainier from 1947-48, two Canadian works for voice, flute and guitar by John Armstrong and Udo Kasemets, a Sonata for flute and guitar written for Douglas Hensley by the emminent Dutch composer Henk Badings, and three medieval German songs by Frank Martin in his arrangement for voice, flute and guitar. It is all beautiful music by composers one doesn’t have much opportunity to hear in Victoria – please join us for this intimate recital.
